The West Chester Golden Rams represent West Chester University of Pennsylvania, which is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in intercollegiate sports. They compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II. The university currently fields 23 varsity Division II men's and women's teams.
West Chester advanced to the PSAC Championship Game, where the Golden Rams lost to IUP. The team received a bid to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs, beating Shippensburg in the first round before again losing to IUP in the second round.
West Chester's sophomore fullback Joe Iacone was the small-college rushing champion with 1,438 rushing yards in nine games in 1960. [4] He rushed for a season-high 201 yards and scored three touchdowns against Bloomsburg. [5] Iacone was the top vote-getter on the 1960 PSCC all-star team selected by the conference coaches. [6]

The 1952 season was one of five perfect seasons in West Chester Rams football history, the others being 1923, 1928, 1957, and 1960. [4] The team played its home game at Wayne Field in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
