Raytown is a city in Jackson County, Missouri, United States, and is a suburb of Kansas City. The population was at 30,012 in 2020 census . The current mayor of Raytown is Michael McDonough.
The Rice-Tremonti House in Raytown, Missouri, was built in 1844 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. [1] The house was built by Archibald and Sally Rice, who had moved to Missouri from North Carolina and started a forced-labor farm worked by enslaved people. They built a log house in this location around 1836.

After the downtown airport was built, the Raytown airport became known as Ong Field for aviator William Ong. The airport was abandoned in 1949 and became a subdivision called Gregory Heights, with Ong Lake in the 1950s. A historical marker/plaque can be found at 9063 Gregory Blvd, Raytown, MO, marking the spot of the old airfield.
