Breath of the Wild is an open world action-adventure game. Players are tasked with exploring the kingdom of Hyrule while controlling Link. Breath of the Wild encourages nonlinear gameplay, which is illustrated by the lack of defined entrances or exits to areas, [1] scant instruction given to the player, and encouragement to explore freely. [2]
The book reveals concepts and early designs for Breath of the Wild, such as Eiji Aonuma's idea to include Link's motorcycle, the Master Cycle Zero, in the game, which was initially rebuffed but eventually accepted by the team. It shows how each Divine Beast was designed and modelled to represent an identifiable animal.
Aonuma wanted to bring a new creativity and innovation to the series, feeling that Link's Awakening offered a new approach to combining gameplay from these perspectives. He asked Grezzo to work with Nintendo EPD Group No.3 on the game, as it was the first time they had worked on an original Zelda game rather than a remake. [ 9 ]
In psychology, context-dependent memory is the improved recall of specific episodes or information when the context present at encoding and retrieval are the same. In a simpler manner, "when events are represented in memory, contextual information is stored along with memory targets; the context can therefore cue memories containing that contextual information". [1]
In one study Levine et al. (2009) [56] primes of the cultural belief of women being more emotional than men had a greater effect on responses for older memories compared to new memories. The long-term recall of emotions was more in line with the primed opinions, showing that long-term recall of emotions was heavily influenced by current opinions.
Motivated forgetting is a theorized psychological behavior in which people may forget unwanted memories, either consciously or unconsciously. [1] It is an example of a defence mechanism, since these are unconscious or conscious coping techniques used to reduce anxiety arising from unacceptable or potentially harmful impulses thus it can be a defence mechanism in some ways. [2]
The formation of new episodic memories requires the medial temporal lobe, a structure that includes the hippocampus.Without the medial temporal lobe, one is able to form new procedural memories (such as playing the piano) but cannot remember the events during which they happened (See the hippocampus and memory).
