The 12305 / 12306 Howrah–New Delhi Rajdhani Express is a Rajdhani class train belonging to Eastern Railway zone that runs between Howrah Junction and New Delhi in India via Patna Junction. It is currently being operated with 12305/12306 train numbers on a weekly basis.
This Train was originally introduced in the Annual Railway Budget of 1996–97 as a daily Rajdhani Express from New Delhi to Patna via Lucknow. Later it was rerouted to run via Prayagraj. In 1997, the pantry car service was introduced. [1] In 2009, it was certified as the only ISO-Certified Rajdhani Express of Indian Railways till now.
The train makes only FOUR stops between Patna and New Delhi: at Kanpur Central, Mirzapur, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction and Ara Junction.The train is hauled by WAP-7. It has LHB coach. It is now operated on HOG system in which the power to coaches is provided directly from locomotive instead of EOGs (power cars).
