Richard Hayward (February 6, 1946 – August 12, 2010) [1] [2] was an American drummer best known as a founding member and drummer in the band Little Feat. He performed with several bands and worked as a session player. Hayward also joined with friends in some small acting roles on television, which included an episode of F Troop.
Little Feat is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Lowell George, bassist Roy Estrada (both formerly of the Mothers of Invention), keyboardist Bill Payne, and drummer Richie Hayward in 1969.
Members included future Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward (who replaced Dallas Taylor in September 1966); Martin Kibbee (a.k.a. Fred Martin), who would later co-write several Little Feat songs with George (including "Dixie Chicken" and "Rock and Roll Doctor"); and Warren Klein on guitar.
The cries came again when two more of the Feat faithful, drummer Richie Hayward and co-guitarist/vocalist Paul Barrere, lost battles with liver cancer in 2010 and 2019, respectively.

The album marks the band's first original album since 2003's Kickin' It at the Barn and the recording debut with the group of new drummer Gabe Ford who replaced original drummer Richie Hayward following his death in 2010.
