Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) [1] is an Australian record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. He is the founder and Lead vocalist of the drum and bass / electronic rock band Pendulum , as well as DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen .
In 2011 Rob Swire and fellow member Gareth McGrillen announced in various interviews that a project called Knife Party had been created. The side project is virtually unlinked by any means to Pendulum and consists of electro house, dubstep and other club genres. Knife Party has since become the duo's primary project.

Alexander Odden and Michael Parsberg of Pegboard Nerds initially sent a concept for the collaboration to Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen of Knife Party, which Swire immediately recorded vocals for. Odden and Parsberg liked the vocals and flew to London for a week to work on the collaboration with Swire and McGrillen in the latter's studio.
