The 2010–11 Atlanta Thrashers season was the team's 12th season of operation in the National Hockey League (NHL). [1] The Thrashers posted a regular season record of 34 wins, 36 losses and 12 overtime/shootout losses for 80 points, failing to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
The 58th All-Star Game was held at RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, home arena of the Carolina Hurricanes, on January 30, 2011. This was the final season of operation for the Atlanta Thrashers, who were sold to True North Sports and Entertainment out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved from Atlanta to Winnipeg to become the "new" Winnipeg Jets.
The Thrashers' last win came against the New York Rangers, 3–0 at Madison Square Garden on April 7, 2011. On April 10, 2011, the Thrashers played their last game in Atlanta against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tim Stapleton scored the last goal in Thrashers history in a 5–2 loss to Pittsburgh.
