Devendra Kumar Tiwari (born 26 March 1960) is a 1986 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jharkhand cadre, and is currently the State Election Commissioner of Jharkhand. [3] He was the 22nd Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, leaving that office on March 31, 2020.
He was a gold medalist from the Allahabad University and joined IAS in 1966. He was the district magistrate of Patna in the 1970s. [3] He was appointed as Chief Secretary of Bihar in 1998 and then was handpicked by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government to be the first Chief Secretary of Jharkhand State in 2000. [4]
