"In the Misty Moonlight" is a song written by Cindy Walker. One of the first singers to record the song in 1964 was Jim Reeves : it is included on his posthumous album The Jim Reeves Way . Cindy Walker was born on July 20, 1917, on her grandparents' farm near Mart, Texas (near Mexia, east of Waco), the daughter of a cotton-broker.Her maternal grandfather F.L. Eiland was a noted composer of hymns and her mother was a fine pianist.
The tracks recorded by Cline (including the duet) were produced by Decca/MCA's Owen Bradley, Cline's original record producer. Reeves' recordings were produced by RCA's Chet Atkins and Bob Ferguson on Side One of the album, while the recordings on Side Two were produced by Chet alone. The reverse is true for the RCA album.
