Jiuzhaigou ([tɕjòʊ.ʈʂâɪ.kóʊ] ⓘ; Chinese: 九寨沟; pinyin: Jiǔzhàigōu) is a nature reserve and national park located in the north of Sichuan Province in southwestern China. A long valley running north to south, Jiuzhaigou was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997. [ 1 ]

In 1992, the town of Jiuzhaigou following the merger of Longkang Township (Chinese: 龙康乡) and Tazang Township (Chinese: 塔藏乡). [2] [4] On June 19, 1998, Nanping County, which governed the town, was renamed to Jiuzhaigou County, prompting the town of Jiuzhaigou to change its name to Zhangha after the village where its government was seated.
In 2005, Zhangye Danxia was voted by a panel of reporters from 34 major media outlets as one of the most beautiful Danxia landform areas in China. In 2009, Chinese National Geography magazine chose Zhangye Danxia as one of the "six most beautiful landforms" in China. [2] The area has become a top tourist attraction for Zhangye.

Pearl Shoal Waterfall (Chinese: 珍珠滩瀑布; pinyin: Zhēnzhū tān pùbù) is a waterfall located in Jiuzhaigou, Aba-Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in northern Sichuan Province, China. Located at an altitude of 2,433 metres (7,982 ft), the top of the waterfall is 310 metres (1,020 ft) in width.
Songpan County, formerly Songzhou, is a county in northwestern Sichuan province, China, and is one of the 13 counties administered by the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. It has an area of 8,486 square kilometres (3,276 sq mi), and a population of approximately 68,000 composed of Tibetan , Qiang , Han and Hui populations.
