The University of Rajasthan, informally known as Rajasthan University (RU, ISO: Rājasthān Viśvavidyālaya), is a public state university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. It was founded in 1947 by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly and is recognised as a prominent institution in the region.
The application form was filled up through CUCET-2010 which held on 19 and 20 June 2010 in about 30 examination centers spread across the country. [4] From its inception in 2010 till 2020, the CUCET was conducted by the Central University of Rajasthan for 12 Central Universities.
Rajasthan has over 50 private, state and central government Universities which makes it one of the leading states in Indian higher education system. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council [1] [2] is leading system of quality system for higher educational institutions established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under University Grants Commission (India). It was established in 1844 as Maharaja's School by Maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Ram Singh II, along with Pandit Shivdeen, who also became its first principal.Originally affiliated with University of Calcutta, and subsequently with University of Allahabad in 1890, the college went on to become one of six constituent colleges of University of Rajasthan, established in 1947.
In the early sixties a need for management education was felt to keep up with the changing scenario of business in India. The University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, started the MBA program in 1968. The R.A. Podar Institute of Management was established in 1974 as a constituent unit of the university. It was the sixth B-School established in the country.
In Rajasthan there are 123 Legal education centers imparting legal education. [1] All law colleges and legal education centres are affiliated with Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University [2] except constituent part of Government Universities in the state of Rajasthan. It was established in 2012 by the Government of Rajasthan through the Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University, Udaipur Act, 2012 [2] and was to be named after the 6th Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, and to be located in Udaipur. T.C. Damor was appointed the first Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university in July 2013. [3]
