12 × 5 is the second American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released in 1964 following the success of their American debut The Rolling Stones (England's Newest Hit Makers). It is an expanded version of the EP Five by Five, which had followed their debut album in the UK.

"Time Is on My Side" is a song written by Jerry Ragovoy (using the pseudonym "Norman Meade"). First recorded by jazz trombonist Kai Winding and his orchestra in 1963, it was covered (with additional lyrics by Jimmy Norman) by both soul singer Irma Thomas and then later the Rolling Stones in 1964.
The song was covered by the Rolling Stones on their album 12 x 5 released in October 1964. [13] It was covered by the Hep Stars in 1965 on the B-side of their third single and on their first live album Hep Stars on Stage.
