The 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment is an air defense artillery regiment of the United States Army first organized in 1917 as a railway gun unit. It continued in that role unit 1943, when the regiment was broken in separate railway gun battalions, and in the following year the units were reorganized and redesignated as field artillery.

On 16 July 2005, the 507th Maintenance Company was redesignated as Battery E, 5th Battalion, 52d Air Defense Artillery Regiment. In 2006, A monument to the 507th Maintenance Company was placed within the battalion's area on Fort Bliss, Texas. [3] In January 2007, the unit's designation was changed to Battery F.
It was the home of the 412th Aviation Support Battalion from 2006 and is still used by the United States Army today. Since its creation, Shipton Kaserne has been home to several units, including the 6th Battalion, 43rd Air Defence Artillery Regiment (6/43 Air Defense Artillery), 6/52 Air Defense Artillery, and the 601st Aviation Support Battalion.
