It was incorporated on January 27, 1853, on 100 acres (40 ha) of the site of the "Loudon" estate, previously owned by James Carey, a local merchant and politician. The congregation was established in Loudon in August 1853, although its official records begin in March 1855. [2] The church building, which was the congregation's third home, is a Carpenter Gothic design. The building was completed and dedicated in 1882.
