The Bangor Area School District is a midsized, public school district located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania.It covers approximately 87 square miles (230 km 2), serving the Boroughs of Bangor, East Bangor, Portland and Roseto and Upper Mount Bethel Township, Washington Township and most of Lower Mount Bethel Township.
In 2014, the Post analysis placed Bangor High in the top 8% nationally (of approx. 22,000 'normal-enrollment' public high schools), and Bangor was one of only six Maine high schools to make the top 10%, and one of only two in a Maine city. [6] In 2011, Maine's male and female AP Scholars were students at Bangor High School.
John Glenn High School was a member of the North East Michigan Conference. In 2010 that conference stopped being an all-sports league, which began a search for a new conference. [ 7 ] In October 2016, Glenn was admitted as a member of the Saginaw Valley League starting in the 2017–2018 school year.
