Bloomfield Township is a charter township in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northern suburb of Detroit, Bloomfield Township is located roughly 20 miles (32 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the township had a population of 44,253. [3] Established in 1827, it is the oldest township of Oakland County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 32.41 square miles (83.94 km 2), of which 32.39 square miles (83.89 km 2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km 2) (0.06%) is water. [5] The township is located northeast of the center of Clinton County. It surrounds the city of St. Johns, the county seat.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.8 square miles (93 km 2), of which 35.2 square miles (91 km 2) is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km 2) (1.57%) is water. The township contains portions of the Maple River State Game Area.
