Revenge was a band formed by New Order bassist Peter Hook (vocals, bass, keyboards) and Lavolta Lakota and Rawhead singer Davyth Hicks (aka Dave Hicks) on guitar and vocals, together with Chris Jones (keyboards). Revenge formed during New Order's hiatus in 1989-1990 and played their final gigs in January 1993.
Even though the album was instrumental, the vocalist Ariel was still involved by giving the band ideas any time his bandmates visited him in prison. The album, titled Suara Lainnya , was released on 23 May 2012, credited under the name "Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David". [ 26 ]
The band consists of Rektivianto "Rekti" Yoewono (vocals, guitar), Farri Icksan Wibisana (guitar), Aghan Sudrajat (bass), and Absar Lebeh (guitar). They have three studio albums and two EPs : Visible Idea of Perfection (2007) and Detourn (2014); The S.I.G.I.T. (2004) and the two-parted Hertz Dyslexia that was released separately in 2009 and 2011.
Other than their hit songs "11 Januari", "Nakal", and "My Facebook" which achieve moderate success in Indonesia, the band is known for their releases of religious compilation albums, international recognition and solo career of guitarist Dewa Budjana, and the audition of vocalist of Armand Maulana for INXS.
In 2024, they went on a European and UK tour titled Echoes Tour, including dates and served as an opening act for Australian band Mildlife.
