Buford Dam is a dam in Buford, Georgia which is located at the southern end of Lake Lanier, [4] a reservoir formed by the construction of the dam in 1956. The dam itself is managed by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
The most recent one, a 2.3 magnitude temblor, happened just after midnight on Monday near the south end of Lake Lanier, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

Lake Rabun is a twisty 835-acre (3.4 km 2) reservoir with 25 miles (40 km) of shoreline located in the Northeastern corner of the U.S. state of Georgia in Rabun County. It is the third lake in a six-lake series that follows the original course of the Tallulah River .

The lake was created by Dr. Walter Boone Spivey, a prominent Buckhead dentist, and his wife Emilie. The lake formed following the completion of construction on an earthen dam on Rum Creek in September 1957.
