Huntington is a station on the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Huntington Station, Suffolk County, New York. It is located off New York Avenue ( NY 110 ), which connects it to Melville , the Long Island Expressway , and Huntington .

The line from Hicksville to Syosset was chartered in 1853 as the Hicksville and Syosset Railroad and opened in 1854. The City Terminal Zone formerly included the Lower Montauk Branch from Long Island City to Jamaica until passenger service on that route was discontinued in November 2012. This line formerly included Penny Bridge, Haberman, Fresh Pond, Glendale, and Richmond Hill stations until they were closed in March 1998. [3]
