Iowa Select Farms is a pork production operation headquartered in Iowa Falls, the largest in Iowa, and the fourth largest in the United States. [1] It grew in the 1970s, was officially founded in 1992 and as of 2023 produced more than 5 million pigs on 800 CAFOs in 50 Iowa counties.
The span carried U.S. Route 65 over the Iowa River for 255 feet (78 m). The through arch bridge was built by the Weldon Brothers Construction Co. of Iowa Falls in 1928 for $51,374.98. At the time it was completed the bridge was the longest arch span in the state of Iowa. [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. [1]
