Eagles Live is the first live album by the American rock band Eagles, a two-LP set released on November 7, 1980. Although the Eagles were already in the process of breaking up, [3] [4] the band owed Elektra/Asylum Records one more album and fulfilled that contractual obligation with a release of performances from the Hotel California and The Long Run tours.
The Eagles have included "Already Gone" in their live performances since the 1970s. It was one of their "best selections" at a 1979 Michigan show, according to one reviewer. [ 21 ] At a 2002 concert in Washington , the song created a "frenzy," with the audience singing along. [ 22 ]
A live performance by Meisner from 1976 was recorded at The Forum, Inglewood, California. It is included in the album Eagles Live, which was released in 1980 after the band had effectively broken up. A second version, recorded in 1977, was released on 'Hotel California 40th Anniversary: Expanded Edition' released in 2017.

In 1977, Schmit joined the Eagles after the Hotel California tour, replacing Randy Meisner on bass/vocals, as he had done in Poco, after Meisner quit. Although the Eagles are thought of as a quintessential California band, Schmit is the only member of the group who is actually a native of California. [6] [7]
