Higher education in Zambia has improved in the recent years due to the increase of private universities and colleges. The biggest university is the public University of Zambia [ 1 ] which is located in the capital city of Lusaka along the Great East Road and hosts a number of local and international students.
Until his death in 2023, Wyatt served on the board of trustees, together with Young and Moffat, who continue to serve. Chengelo has grown to about 490 students, with over 150 staff. Supporters of the school included the late President of the Republic of Zambia, Levy Mwanawasa, whose children attended Chengelo. [1]
The Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) was established under the Examinations Council of Zambia Act of 1983, [1] to set and conduct examinations and award certificates to successful candidates. The Examinations are given to Grade 7 students before they move on to secondary examination,Grade 9 students as well as Grade 12 school leaving students.
The Ministry of Education is a ministry in Zambia.It is headed by the Minister of Education and oversees primary, secondary and tertiary education. The School of Law at Zambian Open University is the second law school to be established in Zambia after the school of law at the University of Zambia. It is one of the oldest schools at ZAOU. The School of Law is currently the biggest Law School in Zambia.
The school overlooks the Sakeji River, a tributary of the Zambezi River, which provides hydroelectric power and is used for recreation by the children.At an altitude of about 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) the climate is warm in the day and cool in the evening, particularly during the dry season months of June and July.
