Winfield Township is one of nine townships in DuPage County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 45,836 and it contained 16,445 housing units. [ 2 ] It is the least populous of the DuPage County Townships.
Winfield originally tried to become an incorporated village in 1884 under the town name 'Frederick Park'. However, the motion was denied as the town did not have 300 residents as was required for incorporation. [8] When the village was finally incorporated in 1921, the town had a population of 310 people. [9]

Winfield is a station on Metra's Union Pacific West Line, located in Winfield, Illinois, at the corner of Jewell Road and Winfield Road. The station is 27.5 miles (44.3 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center, the eastern terminus of the West Line. [2] In Metra's zone-based fare system, Winfield is in zone 4.
