Charles Waldo Haskins was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1852, "into a leading American family (including uncle Ralph Waldo Emerson)". [citation needed]Haskins was educated at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, now called the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where he earned a degree in civil engineering, [2] and subsequently completed his studies in Paris.
Sir George Alexander Touche, 1st Baronet (/ ˈ t uː ʃ /; born Touch; [1] 24 May 1861 – 7 July 1935) was a British accountant and politician. He founded one of the firms which amalgamated to create Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu .
