Malta (/ ˈ m ɒ l t ə / ⓘ MOL-tə, / ˈ m ɔː l t ə / MAWL-tə, Maltese: [ˈmɐːltɐ]), officially the Republic of Malta, [14] is an island country in Southern Europe located in the Mediterranean Sea.
