Location: La. Logged. Camp Chef Italia Artisan Oven Trouble. May 02, 2023, 12:48:58 PM. I have an Italia Artisan gas oven that I bought used. The problem I am having is that the flames are large and yellow not blue and hot, and the incomplete combustion is resulting in lot of soot build up. I have included a picture of the flames.

The pizza oven I have is the Camp Chef Artisan 90, made specifically for their 3-burner model stove. It fits over two of the burners and measures in at 16x24 (15x20 cooking surface) and comes with a ceramic stone.

Look at how the Blackstone directs a large portion of the flame off to the side of the stone and over the pizza. In the camp chef, the burners point right at the bottom of the oven and the only top heat you get is whatever hot air comes around the sides. The un-insulated metal dome will also bleed heat like crazy.
Right now, on the GMG, or most any other pellet grill, you will have to completely remove the GMG Pizza Oven attachment to be able to clean out the ash from the firepot.
