Mount Constitution is a mountain on Orcas Island, the highest point in the San Juan Islands and the second highest mountain on an ocean island in the contiguous 48 states. Only Devils Peak in the Channel Islands of California is higher. [3]
The summit can be seen west of Cajon Pass on Interstate 15, the route from Southern California to Las Vegas. The peak can also be seen on extremely clear days from Mount San Jacinto 46 miles (74 km) to the southeast, Irvine 55 miles (89 km) to the south, and Santa Monica to the far west.

The circular structure is part of a former sea bed, and lies 1,490–1,600 meters (4,890–4,250 ft) below sea level.
It is located 8.8 miles (14.2 km) northwest of Vizcaino Point, the west point of San Nicolas Island, Ventura County, California. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It rises 50 fathoms (300 ft; 91 m) from the ocean floor, with its highest pinnacle reaching an elevation of 15 feet (4.6 m) above sea level.
