Royal Diamond (foaled 9 February 2006) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse. A slow maturing stayer who was gelded before he appeared on a racecourse, he passed through the hands of five different trainers in a track career which lasted from September 2008 until November 2014.
Later, Byrne James of Encinal, Texas, bought King from Alexander for $325. It was James' wife that changed the horse's name from Buttons to King. In 2013 he was consigned as a foal to the JRHA Select sale and was bought for ¥241,500,000 ($2,272,400) [1] by Hajime Satomi. Satomi, whose horses usually carry the "Satono" prefix sent the colt into training with Yasutoshi Ikee.

Valley View Supreme was born in April 1952. He was by Genius Bourbon King, out of Diana Gay. About a year before he was born, his owner, W.P. Rogovsky fell ill. [2] Another horse owner, Everette Ledbetter, wanted to buy some of his horse trailers, but Rogovsky wouldn't give unless Ledbetter bought a few of his horses too.
