Clifford C. Clavin, Jr. [2] (born 1947 [3] or 1949) is a fictional character on the American television show Cheers played by John Ratzenberger. [4] A postal worker, he is the bar's resident know-it-all.
Norm appeared in all 275 episodes of Cheers from 1982 to 1993 and was initially the only customer featured in the show's main cast, later joined by best friend Cliff Clavin, Frasier Crane, and Lilith Sternin. Along with Sam Malone and Carla Tortelli, Norm is one of only three characters to appear in every episode of Cheers.

The show was produced by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Television and was created by the team of James Burrows and Glen and Les Charles.
