Handy Township is a civil township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 8,602 at the time of the 2020 census , [ 3 ] up from 8,006 at the 2000 census . [ 4 ] The village of Fowlerville is located within the township.

The first permanent settler was Ralph Fowler [4] in 1836, who also instructed Amos Adams to plat the village in 1849. A post office named "Cedar" was established in 1838, but was renamed "Fowlerville" in 1853, after the village's plat name.

Cindy Denby (born December 11, 1955) is a Republican politician from Michigan who served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. She also served for 16 years on the Handy Township Board of Trustees: eight years as township clerk and eight as supervisor.
