This template can be used to put a frame around a picture (or anything else). The frame is the same as in [[Image:Foo|thumb]] or [[Image:Foo|frame]], but without displaying a caption. Demo. I fixed so it now works in bullet lists... It should't be like this; Fred-Chess 08:37, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Animation: assemble a GIF animation file from a sequence of images. Text and comments: insert descriptive or artistic text in an image. Image identification: describe the format and attributes of an image.
The default images for this meta-template are in png format instead of svg format. The main reason is that some older web browsers have trouble with the transparent background that MediaWiki renders for svg images. The png images here have hand optimised transparent background colour so they look good in all browsers.
