Ready Steady Cook is a BBC daytime TV cooking game show. It debuted on 24 October 1994 and the last original edition was broadcast on 2 February 2010. [4] The programme was hosted by Fern Britton from 1994 until 2000 when celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott became the new host.
The "Plates for Mates" campaign was launched by a number of celebrity chefs on 6 March 2012. The campaign aims to raise money to assist in developing techniques to help heal burns victims. [4] 2013 saw the launch of the "Cruise for Mates" initiative, comprising fundraising cruises to raise money for Golinski and the charities he supports.

Harriott became the resident chef on Good Morning with Anne and Nick and later the main presenter of Can't Cook, Won't Cook and originally a chef on Ready Steady Cook before he went on to host it in 2000, both shows involving members of the public.
