Tourism is its primary industry, and is generally focused on the coastal areas of Goa, with decreased tourist activity inland. Foreign tourists, mostly from Europe, arrive in Goa in winter, whilst the summer and monsoon seasons see many Indian tourists. [4] It was held annually in Vagator, Goa from 2007 to 2015, and shifted to Pune, Maharashtra in 2016. In 2019, the festival returned to Vagator, Goa.
Waves is an annual cultural festival held at BITS, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, Goa, India to celebrate music, dance and art. [1] [2] It is held over three days, usually during late October or early November. The festival was first held in 2006 [3] with events including dance, drama, literature, comedy, fashion, and music.
The Church of St. Francis of Assisi, together with a convent, was established by eight Portuguese Franciscan friars who landed in Goa in 1517. [2] [3] [4] It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Churches and convents of Goa.
