The massive mausoleum comprises the grave mound with a height above 50 m (160 ft) and numerous accompanying pits with funerary objects. Of these, the most famous is the Terracotta Army (pictured), thousands of life-sized and realistic terracotta statues of warriors, as well as horses and chariots. The site was discovered in 1974. This is a list of cities designated as National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities (国家历史文化名城) by the State Council of China.China approved 99 National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities in three batches in 1982, 1986 and 1994, and has approved a further 45 cities from August 10, 2001 to December 12, 2024, bringing the total to 144.

The sculpture of Emperors Yan and Huang is a monument in China that was carved from a mountain on the Yellow River. The overall monument height is 106 metres (348 ft); a 55-meter base platform with 51-meter busts on top. They depict the two mythical emperors known as Yan Emperor (Yandi) and Yellow Emperor (Huangdi).
