Sime Darby Property Berhad 197301002148 (15631-P) is a Malaysian real estate developer with operations in Malaysia and the United Kingdom. Incorporated in 1973, as Sime Darby Property Sdn. Bhd., the Group [2] was created through the integration of the property arms under the former Golden Hope Plantations Berhad, Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad, and Sime Darby Berhad.
The group started out in 1974 as a construction company which was later led by a well-known property development figure, Liew Kee Sin in 1990 and was eventually listed on Bursa Malaysia in 1993. In 1996, S P Setia refocused its core business to property development with supporting businesses in construction and wood-based manufacturing.
In 2005, the group transferred several of its investment properties into UOA Real Estate Investment Trust (UOA REIT) and listed the REIT on Bursa Malaysia. Urban Development Authority of Malaysia (UDA) was established on 12 November 1971 under the Ministry of Public Enterprise.
