For those interested, I built a DualShock 4 emulator for the steam deck and Steam OS. I tested it on PS Plus Ghost of Tsushima and Infamous Second Son, and I am glad to report the trackpad and gyro/accel works well. It should work with most games and apps with inbuilt DualShock 4 support.
