State Route 431 (SR 431), commonly known as the Mount Rose Highway, is a 24.413-mile-long (39.289 km) highway in Washoe County, Nevada, that connects Incline Village at Lake Tahoe with Reno. The highway, a Nevada Scenic Byway , takes its name from Mount Rose , which lies just off the highway.
In late July 2009, however, all route shields and mileposts for SR 650 and SR 651 were removed from the highways. These were replaced with new mileposts for State Route 659. Passing the Mount Rose Junction, US 395 Alt. enters the Reno city limits and becomes South Virginia Street. The route continues north to intersect a half-interchange with I-580 and US 395 north. Passing under the freeway, the U.S. Route 395 Business designation begins. The roadway turns slightly more westward as it travels further north into Reno.
