The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is a public school district located in Wake County, North Carolina. With 159,995 students in average daily membership and 198 schools as of the 2023–24 school year, [ 3 ] it is the largest public school district in North Carolina and 14th-largest in the United States as of 2016.
Panther Creek High School was established in 2006. [3] Rodney Nelson was the school's first principal, serving until his retirement in 2014. [4] He was replaced by Nicholas Polsinelli who was named North Carolina PTA Principal of the Year in 2017. The Cary Academy chapter of the National Speech and Debate Association received the Leading Chapter Award for the Tarheel East District in 2007, 2013, and 2015.
