Imagine Dragons gets shit on so much, and deservably so imo, because of how high profile they were. For a time their music was almost impossible to escape, so of course people were going to have more intense opinions on them.
Never liked Imagine Dragons to begin with. Now, the fact that this sounds less like Imagine Dragons and more like...I don't know, Lorde? Which is weird. At the same time, it makes me laugh. It doesn't sound terrible to me, as far as the sound goes. But hey.

1st half is on some Imagine Dragons type shit that I wasn't particularly feeling, then it kicks up with the chorus and starts to give me more of a Kohei Tanaka/One Piece vibe. I dig it. But I'm biased as Yoko Shimomura is like my favorite composer. Still have nonexistent interest in the game itself.

I imagine that Itsuno's team chose to prioritize input responsiveness if they were going to have performance inconsistencies regardless, but yeah, it's hard not to guffaw a bit when you see just how ropey it all seems, even when it's running above average in the wilderness.
But a lot of this is also fairly shallow in terms of it's explortion and lore explanation, most of which I imagine comes from the rushed development. I'm sure some of it will come back and be expanded upon in DD2 we've already seen that is the case but fingers crossed some of these other aspects return too and are made much more meaningful.

Imagine how much better everything would be if they had simply allowed Rhaenys to take the throne. It would have prevented all the pandering and weakness of Viserys, would have taken Daemon out of the line of succession, Laenor could have still wed Rhaenyra, etc etc. Otto certainly wouldn't have been able to manipulate Rhaenys like he did Viserys.
