Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (informally abbreviated DAVV), formerly University of Indore, [2] is a state university located in Indore, India. It was named after Ahilya Bai Holkar , the 18th century Queen and ruler of Indore , daughter in law of Malhar Rao Holkar who was the founder of Holkar Dynasty .
The Institute of Engineering & Technology, DAVV commonly referred to as IET, or IET DAVV is the engineering school of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. It was founded as an autonomous institute in 1996. [1] The college is located near the university's Takshashila Campus on Khandwa Road in the south-east of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. [2]

The campus sprawls over a 200 acres. Separated by a National Highway, it is further divided into three portions. On one of these portions School of Pharmacy, DAVV is built, while the other has the Institute of Engineering Technology. The major portion has about 28 departments of the university.
In general, a student can pass a year with a maximum of 4 supplementary exams. Lets say someone has failed two exams in the first semester and three exams in the second semester, and he could not clear the first semester supplementary exam, he will have to repeat the year and would not be able to attend Third Semester.
The Department of Management Studies is a result of the process of growth idea floated in 1963. In 1974, IIT Delhi set up an internal committee to scrutinize the functioning of the management area in the institute. In 1975, an expert committee was set up to formally examine the possibility of launching this area in a more sustained fashion.
The founder-director of IBA is M. Safiullah. IBA began by launching its flagship MBA program. In the 1970s, the MPhil and PhD programs were introduced. The BBA program was started in 1993 at the institute. In 2007, the Executive MBA program was launched to cater to the growing demand for quality education among mid-career executives. [6]
