Grace Slick (born Grace Barnett Wing; October 30, 1939) [1] is an American painter and retired musician whose musical career spanned four decades. She was a prominent figure in San Francisco's psychedelic music scene during the mid-1960s to the early 1970s.

"White Rabbit" was written and performed by Grace Slick while she was still with her previous band, the Great Society.Slick then left the Great Society to join Jefferson Airplane to replace their departing female singer, Signe Toly Anderson (who left the band to give birth to her child).
