Hartford is a town in Windsor County, Vermont, United States. It is on the New Hampshire border, at the intersection of Interstates 89 and 91 . It is the site of the confluence of the White and Connecticut rivers ; the Ottauquechee River also flows through the town. [ 4 ]
Engine Company 2 was established in 1864 when the city of Hartford decided to combine its existing volunteer fire companies into a single paid citywide department. It had originally been the Neptune company, based near the present location at 1161 Main Street.

Fire station in Clay-Arsenal. The Hartford Fire Department is the fifth-largest fire department in Connecticut. [249] [250] The fire department operates out of 12 fire stations located throughout the city. Three of Hartford's fire stations are on the National Register of Historic Places. Engine 1 and Engine 15 are still in use today.
The station, as well as the former fire equipment maintenance house behind it at 36 John Street, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. [1] The station presently houses Engine Company 1 and Ladder Company 6 of the Hartford Fire Department.
