From memory and from the names on the decal sheet of the plastic model i made when i was a kid where the names : Enterprise,Exeter,Farragut,Constitution,Constellation,Kongo,Yorktown,Lexington,Intrepid,Republic,Hood,Potempkin and Valiant.
Indeed, that episode has a closeup of the bridge's Environmental console panel #1. This is a different panel, however, than the one shown above, which is Subsystems console panel #2. You're right though...the text on both axes is blacked out in the Galileo Seven shot, which portrays this as a shuttlecraft panel.
Feb 25, 2018. #2. The Bluray set is the only place to get everything. It has both versions of the fx, as you noted, all the DVD special features, and also the original, unaired version of "Where No Man has Gone Before," not found on DVD. So you're getting every last bonus feature.

Star Trek is a product of its time and IMO holds its own compared to other late '60s shows. The older it gets the less it will appeal to a broad audience, just like any other show. Some people will still appreciate it, either for historical value or because they like its "vintage" aesthetic or production values.
The "Trials And Tribble-ations" set was a fun approximation that served the needs of the episode: (click for full size) However, it's hardly an accurate recreation of the classic "Journey To Babel" season 2 setplan. For instance: 1) The corner posts are far too bulbous (probably 12" instead of 9")

Red Shirt. Jun 18, 2015. #13. I prefer the Blu-Rays for Next Gen (as mentioned above, TNG is STUNNING in Hi-Def), Enterprise, and the films. However, for TOS, I far prefer my original 2-episode DVD's for several reasons: 1) I think the picture quality actually looks better on my HD TV.
