phantom said: For instance, I use the Ice for my Reisling Ice wine. For my Port, I'll use Schooner. I really like the look of the Ice label. Great choice for an ice wine. The Schooner label reminds me strongly of a Canadian beer label (Molsons Ex). We used to do a small back label (kit brand, bottling date).

I do not have an issue with the cons. Take some cotton wool, dip it in the milk and spread the milk with that on the back of the label. You can make the labels soaking wet. Cutting is indeed needed as you print on an a4 sheet. However that is easily done with a photo cutter. I never had any labels falling off.
So maybe around 100-150$". In the US, a $35 wine kit is rock bottom and it makes flavored wine, not very good. My guess is comparable wine would be approx. $7 for a 2-litre bottle. If you opt for $100 kit I believe you could make a $15 bottle of wine. The wine kit plus bottles, corks, and labels would cost around $5 per bottle.

I do special labels ad hoc if I am bringing a bottle to someone's house and each label is unique to the person ...
I almost exclusively make 3 gallon batches (except when I make kits), so I bottle in 375ml bottles mostly. A 3 gallon batch yields 24 375ml bottles (a case where I purchase them) and 3 750ml bottles.

Onlinelabels.com has very good prices for blank templates. A design software comes with each purchase but Avery works just as well. I bought 100 sheets of the labels on the link. They were $18.00 for the matt and $36.00 for the glossy. So 4.5 cents for mat or 9 for glossy.
The screw tops you get from a commercial wine have a different thread than screw tops you buy from a LHBS. The commercial bottle is designed to be used in a commercial machine. The LHBS is designed for home use. Screw tops from commercial wine - bad. Screw tops from LHBS - ok.
Dec 5, 2006. #6. Polyseal caps DONOT Fit commercial screw top bottles designed for Stelvin sytle closures. They do fit Arbor Mist bottles and maybe some others. Some retailers carry bottles that take these caps, but it is difficult to 'collect' wine bottles that accept these caps. Steve.
