Guangshen railway or Guangzhou–Shenzhen railway (Chinese: 广深铁路 or 广深线), also known as the Chinese section of the Kowloon–Canton railway (Chinese: 广九铁路华段) in 1911–1949, is a railway in Guangdong province in the People's Republic of China, between Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
It will feature a length of 73.996 km (45.979 mi) [1] from Xintang South to Shenzhen Airport, operating at a top speed of 140 km/h (87 mph) [1] [4] using CRH6A trains. This is the third railway between Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It is slower than the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link but faster than the Guangzhou–Shenzhen railway.
The Guangzhou–Shenzhen section of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link correspondingly accelerated planning until July 2004, deciding to adopt the “Panyu – Nansha – Shekou – Hong Kong” route.
