CALS administers the degree programs of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS). IFAS is a federal, state, and local government partnership dedicated to develop knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources, and the life sciences and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life.
The college is unique in that the majors that are offered are inter-disciplinary in nature. As of 2021, there were more than 2,900 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the college. [ 2 ] In 2024, the College of Health and Human Performance generated $13.5 million in research expenditures.
A majority are women, 26% are underrepresented minorities and 8% are international students. In addition to the Gainesville campus programs, the college offers baccalaureate degrees online and at four UF/IFAS research and education centers. Graduate degrees and undergraduate and graduate certificates are also available online.
It was one of five universities chosen for the ABC News on Campus program, along with Arizona State University, Syracuse University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Texas at Austin. [21] [22]

The College of Veterinary Medicine offers the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree on campus. As of 2021, the current DVM enrollment includes 455 students. Fifty one students attend the college on campus for the graduate programs for their masters or Doctor of Philosophy degrees. 465 students are enrolled in the college's online masters program.
