Berserk (Japanese: ベルセルク, Hepburn: Beruseruku) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura.Set in a medieval Europe–inspired dark fantasy world, the story centers on the characters of Guts, a lone swordsman, and Griffith, the leader of a mercenary band called the "Band of the Hawk".
Kentaro Miura (Japanese: 三浦 建太郎, Hepburn: Miura Kentarō, July 11, 1966 – May 6, 2021) was a Japanese manga artist.He was best known for his dark fantasy series Berserk, which began serialization in 1989 and continued until his death.
The first two films, The Egg of the King and The Battle for Doldrey, were released in Japan in February and June 2012, and the third film, The Advent, was released in February 2013. In North America, Viz Media has licensed the trilogy for English home video release.
