Sandoval opened the Sycuan Bingo Palace in 1983 after several years of preparation and negotiations. [2] The new operation quickly grossed higher revenues and profits than initially expected. [1] [2] In 1987, Sandoval and the Sycuan Band broke away from Pan American International and began to run the Sycuan Bingo Palace independently. [1]
The move toward casino gaming on the Sycuan Band reservation was spearheaded by the Sycuan Band's former chairwoman, Anna Prieto Sandoval. [5] The Sycuan Band opened its first gambling facility, the Sycuan Bingo Palace, on their reservation in 1983. [6]

Hours are 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The owners expect those hours will expand as will the days open. They anticipate adding lunch options to the menu as well.
