United Skates of America, Inc. is a national roller skating rink chain founded in 1971. [1] As of 2024, it is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. [2] [3] It operates 12 family entertainment centers in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Rhode Island.

The park includes a 100 by 200 feet (30 m × 61 m) wooden roller skating rink, open year-round. The rink has had a pipe organ for most of its history; since 1955 it has been a Wurlitzer model with four manuals , moved to the rink from its previous home at Portland's Broadway Theatre, [ 17 ] where it had been installed in 1926. In 1941, the Swanson family opened the Empire Roller Skating Center in a former garage across the street from Ebbets Field. [4] [5] By the 1940s, the rink (renamed as the Brooklyn Rollerdome) hosted skate and beauty contests in addition to regular skate sessions. [6] In 1956, Henry and Hector Abrami became the new owners and operators.
The rink is open for ice skating from late October to early April. From 2003 until 2019, Victorian Gardens, a seasonal amusement park for children, was operated on the site from late May to September. Wollman Rink opened in 1950, having been proposed four years earlier. The rink was closed for renovations in late 1980 and reopened in November 1986.
In 2017, management announced that Rink 1 would undergo renovation once again putting in new seats, new boards, and a new jumbotron/scoreboard. In the fall of 2018, the arcade was replaced by vending machines. The arena has two NHL-sized skating rinks. The main arena has a seating capacity of 2,500 and the second rink seats approximately 500.
Skaters who have trained at this rink include Michelle Kwan, Timothy Goebel, Evan Lysacek, Beatrisa Liang, Gracie Gold, and Mirai Nagasu. The facility can be accessed by the Metro C Line near the El Segundo Station and the Mariposa Station. The Toyota Sports Performance Center is home to the Los Angeles Jr. Kings Hockey Program.
