Lithia Motors began in 1946 when Walt DeBoer opened a single car dealership in Ashland, Oregon.In the first year, the five-person company sold 14 cars. [1] He was the second son of Caroline Matilda McClurg and Elias Franklin Drake, who was involved with the railroad business.
